Dominique Fache presents at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum
The St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPBILF) was held from May 18-21, 2016. The annual forum brings together ministers of justice, supreme court justices, general secretaries of international organizations, partners of leading legal firms, legal department heads of major companies, representatives of government agencies and representatives of law schools from more than 80 countries. The 2016 forum included a plenary session entitled “Trust in Law – Mechanism for Global Crisis Resolution,” presentations, awards ceremonies, conferences, and more than 50 discussion sessions.
Chairman of the RTF Board of Directors Dominique Fache spoke at the “Investment Attractiveness of Russian Energy: National Legal Regulations and International Experience” round table.
The main goal of the round table was to discuss contemporary practices of investment and their legal regulations in the Russian Federation energy sector. Participants of the round table included famous Russian and foreign experts in law and energy, representatives from Russian government agencies and major energy companies from Russia and abroad, including S.Y. Esyakov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Energy, A.B. Bondarenko, Director of the legal department of the Russian Federation Ministry of Energy, V.G. Korolev, Deputy Head of the Russian Federation Federal Antimonopoly Service, and Jose Alejandro Carballo Leyda, Legal Counsel to the Energy Charter Secretariat.
Dominque Fache’s presentation was about finding a balance between government regulation and the free market in the Russian fuel and energy sector. Dominique in particular focused on the influence of international content on the Russian energy industry, France’s experience with national legal regulation, as well as technology development and modernization.
